Getting Involved
Muir Musical is a student organization on the campus of the University of California at San Diego. Over the course of the year, 100+ students join our team in one way or another, so there is a place for everyone to do what they love! Applications to join our 2022-23 teams are now LIVE! There are opportunities ranging from the traditional Choreographer to Video Editor and Finance Assistant. Overall, there is space for anyone to join our team, theatre student or not!

Performers
Our onstage performers undoubtedly bring each of our productions to life whether that be as a member of one of our casts or as a musician. Experience is recommended for our more demanding roles but is certainly not required!
Primary Creative Team
The primary creative team of each Muir Musical production is made up entirely of UCSD students whose expertise ranges from directing to music to choreography. This team works closely through every step of the production process, including auditions, rehearsals, and tech.
Stage Management
It takes a lot of work to make sure every one of our rehearsals and performances goes smoothly. Supporting the production through each step of the process, our stage management team is there backstage and in the rehearsal room to make sure everything we do goes off without a hitch.
Design
Each Muir Musical production is a culmination of the artistic work of numerous student designers. Designers are typically brought in early on in the production process, and they are an integral part of the creative development of each of our shows.
Each year, we look to bring in designers and assistant designers for costumes, hair and makeup, scenic, sound, lighting, and props. An eye for aesthetics and a desire to pursue a creative vision with the support Muir Musical is able to offer is of paramount importance for any person looking to join the design team. Any level of experience is welcome!
Administrative Team
The administrative team of Muir Musical is the business backbone of the organization. They ensure that all the logistical essentials of the creative side are being executed. You’ll get to work with passionate students and campus-wide leaders alike. Some roles are a larger commitment than others, but no one is working alone. There is a strong network of support for the department directors and their teams.
